What You'll Do

As Career Development Specialist, you will support operations to deliver an excellent Career Development (CD) experience to our Consulting Team (CT) staff and CD stakeholders. Career Development encompasses the core performance management processes for our Consulting Team, including project-based downward feedback; upward feedback for team managers; twice-yearly holistic assessment by the Career Development Committee (CDC); and enablement of CD Advisors and team leaders to deliver rich ongoing developmental conversations and experiences throughout the BCG journey.

 

Supporting the above translates into several buckets of day-to-day activities, including:

 

CDC meeting preparation and management, e.g.,

Communicate with CT and CD Advisors to ensure key pre-meeting tasks are completed in CD systemManage pre-meeting logistics (coordinating space needs, sending invites, arranging technology setup, etc.)Capture post-meeting outcomes and updates in CD systemAt discretion of CD Manager, over time may take on expanded role in process management of an assigned CDC

Support of downward and upward feedback, e.g.,

Collaborate with Staffing and Talent team to ensure reviews accurately reflect case assignments and timelinesLeverage reporting to perform targeted follow-up on outstanding reviews

Supporting and enabling local CD leadership (CD Chair, OC, CD Advisors, Talent Managers), e.g.,

Act as first line of response for CD Advisor questions on CD systemPrepare material for pre-meeting deep-dive discussions and post-meeting debriefsSupport recurring cadence of Talent team check-ins on timely topics

Communications to office/system CT staff, e.g.,

Act as first line of response for CT questions on CD systemCommunicate CD Advisor assignments to new and newly promoted CT staffSupport CD Manager in preparation for onboarding sessions, trainings, cohort meetings, etc.

Other ongoing support, e.g.,

Support execution of local strategic initiativesSupport preparation for year-end bonus processEngage in regular touchpoints with other CD BST throughout NAMR

What You'll Bring

BA/BS degree required with 3+ years related work experience (e.g., HR, talent, staffing, operations)Prior experience at BCG or another professional services firm highly preferredExperience in a People-related role highly preferred

Who You'll Work With

You’ll team closely with the People team leaders of the Washington D.C. office, including the Business Management Senior Director, Talent Team, and CD leadership, as well as a cadre of senior Consulting Team staff who serve as Career Development Advisors and are among BCG’s most dedicated people developers. You’ll also be part of a broader network of Career Development peers across North America, with whom you’ll share learnings and best practices.

That's why we operate on a hybrid model, with the expectation that team members will be in the office 3 to 5 days per week. This role is designed for those who thrive in a dynamic, collaborative environment and is not intended for remote or virtual work.

 

Compensation

 

Total compensation for this role includes base salary, annual discretionary performance bonus, retirement contribution, and a market leading benefits package described below.

 

The base salary range for this role is $79,000-$97,000.

 

This is an estimated range and specific base salaries within the range depend on factors such as office location, experience, and skill set. It is not common for new BCG employees to be hired at the high-end of the salary range. BCG regularly reviews its ranges to ensure market competitiveness.

 

In addition to your base salary, your total compensation will include a discretionary bonus of up to 12% and a generous retirement contribution that starts at 5% and moves to 10% after 2 years.
