Career Coach - Job Description From Facility Career Coach offers supports and expertise with assessment of employment skills and readiness, pre-employment and on the job training, individualized job placement, and - support to maintain employment. Career coaches are the primary contact with community businesses and provide ongoing support to employers. This position is responsible for all aspects of a client’s employment supports and services and ensures that clients remain in compliance with employment-related state and federal reporting requirements. The Career Coach assists clients in obtaining and maintaining employment that is consistent with their vocational goals. (4) Career Coach's - Day Shift M-F + Cover Letter REQUIRED + Local Pay: $23/hr-$25/hr + More admin role + Working with individuals to develop cover letter, resume + Working with employers- knowledgeable with employers in area + Understanding and ability to work with individuals with dev needs + Case manager role + M-F Days- could be required to visit after hours or 2nd shift if resident requests that + Example: If Joe (resident) only works Saturdays at Lowe's, go visit him at his job if he’s your resident- take a couple hours on a Saturday- not often but required as part of job to check in on how resident is doing at work + 18+- Adults + Includes driving- but a lot less driving than other positions like DSP + Office setting Essential Functions: • Conducts employment assessments by utilizing background information and prior work experience • Develops Employment plans considering client’s interests, abilities, talents, values, skills & hobbies • Job development directed toward positions that are individualized to the interests and uniqueness of the client • Assists with supported education plans as needed • Assists clients with application process and onboarding/training • Provides individualized, time-unlimited follow-along supports to assist clients in maintaining employment, advocating for job upgrades or changes in position • Completes administrative tasks on time • Attends weekly meetings and supervision • Perform related duties as assigned, within your scope of practice • Driving required Requirements: • One to two years' experience working in human services or a related field from which comparable knowledge and skills has been acquired • Valid driver’s license and use of a personal vehicle Competencies: • Communication – Possesses clinical skills to communicate therapeutically and effectively. Manages crisis situations with efficiency and clarity • Intercultural Sensitivity - Takes an active interest in others, their cultural background, needs and perspectives • Organization/Attention to Detail - Manages, organizes, and prioritizes essential functions. Follows agency policy and procedures. Identifies what needs to be done and takes initiative • Service to Others - Understands, supports and meets the needs of clients with compassion and empathy. Navigates system of care across populations. Maintains confidentiality of client information • Technology - Develop and maintain proficiency in the use of office equipment, hardware and software. Demonstrate knowledge of agency information management and security policies.
