The Cardiovascular Technician II is responsible for performing a variety of non-invasive cardiac diagnostic procedures, including electrocardiograms (EKGs), cardiac stress testing, and Holter monitor application and removal. This role supports both inpatient and outpatient care settings, ensuring accurate data collection and patient safety throughout all procedures. The technician works closely with physicians and clinical staff to provide high-quality cardiovascular diagnostic services.
Travel throughout the East Submarket is expected with the ability to pick up shifts at Euclid, Hillcrest, Mentor, South Pointe and Marymount Hospitals.
PRN Caregiver Role Summary:
Typical Shifts:
6:30 AM – 3:00 PM
7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
PRN Position Requirements:
Must be available to work all three shifts (day, evening, and night), each being 8 hours long.
Flexibility is essential, as PRN staff are expected to fill in as needed, especially during staff absences.
Vacation Coverage: Required to work full-time (40 hours/week) for 1–2 weeks per year to cover scheduled vacations of regular staff.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Perform 12-lead Electrocardiograms, Holter Monitor Hook-Ups and Cardiac Stress Testing, including 24-hour, 48-hour, and 30-day event monitors and/or EEG testing.
Notify physicians, nurses or managers of abnormal results.
Notify secretaries of needed supplies.
Maintain/troubleshoot equipment and notify Clinical Engineering of ongoing problems that cannot be resolved.
Process test results before and following physician interpretations.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
High School Diploma or GED
Basic Life Support (BLS), Healthcare Provider Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Credentials as an Allied Health Professional
Completion of a Cardiac Technician and/or EEG Program
Six months of experience as an ECG Tech and/or Stress Testing experience

Physical Requirements:
Hand dexterity sufficient to handle ECG equipment and Holter monitors.
Standing and walking for extended periods of time.
May be required to lift up the 25 pounds.
Personal Protective Equipment:
Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
