Minimum pay for this position is $42.28 per hour.
Job Summary
The cardiac sonographer is responsible for performing professional qualitycardiac ultrasound procedures including M-MODE, 2D (real time), PW/CW DOPPLER,COLOR FLOW IMAGING, STRESS ECHOES, TRANSESOPHAGEAL AND CONTRAST ULTRASOUND studies. Tests are performed according to the standards / guidelines of the American Society of Echocardiography. The sonographer prepares the patient for examination by explaining the procedure, acquires demographic information, clinical history, and correlates symptoms with findings. The sonographer must have the ability to recognize abnormal pathology and demonstrate correlation of this information
into a useful study, generating a permanent record of the examination on the digital PACS system and hardcopy. An initial report is prepared for the Cardiologist to read. Direct notification to the cardiologist is initiated for issues requiring immediate attention. Each sonographer is expected to participate as a member of the Cardiac Ultrasound team, assisting in all aspect of the delivery of services
to patients and physicians.
Qualifications
Qualifications - External- Registered in Cardiac Ultrasound preferred.
- Three to five years Cardiac ultrasound experience required with knowledge of
M-MODE,2-D, COLOR FLOW IMAGING and Doppler.
-Experience with transesophageal imaging preferred.
-Experience with stress echo preferred
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of the special needs and behaviors of infant, child, adolescent,
adult, older adult patients required/preferred.
