Position Summary: Responsible for performing echocardiography procedures of diagnostic value to be interpreted by a cardiologist and/or another referring physician. Education, License & Cert: Graduate of AMA approved school CPR Certified Certification in echocardiography or Certification eligible Experience: Minimum of six months preferred certified Echocardiography Essential Functions: 1. Performs all inpatient and outpatient two‐dimensional, m‐mode, color flow and doppler echocardiograms, stress echocardiography, contrast studies, and transesophageal echocardiography. 2. Achieves and maintains working knowledge and understanding of electrocardiograms, including the performance of blood pressures to aid in the performance of Resting and Stress Echocardiography. 3. Achieves and maintains working knowledge and understanding of cardiac anatomy and physiology and procedure protocols and contrast imaging utilization. 4. Achieves and maintains working knowledge of ultrasound equipment. 5. Assists physician in performing sterile procedures as necessary. 6. Maintains adequate documentation and file systems of all studies performed. 7. Performs minor equipment repairs and cleaning (e.g. calibrations, filters, VCR, disc, etc.) 8. Informs supervisor of problems within the department with regard to equipment function. Other Duties: 1. Cleaning and restocking rooms daily. 2. Ability to deal with stressful situations (e.g. trauma) 3. Must be able to transport portable equipment to operating room suite, emergency room, nursing units, and morgue. 4. Must be able to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays, on a scheduled basis. 5. Must be able to lift, push, reach, bend, stoop, and walk in order to care for patients. 6.
