**Job Summary and Qualifications**
As a highly-skilled and compassionate Medical Observation Nurse you will provide acute care expertise along with excellent patient care on our Medical Observation unit. You will demonstrate clinical competency, nursing judgment, teaching skills, and a commitment to providing quality patient care. You will be part of a team that pulls together to provide a quality patient care experience.
In this role:
+ You will provides direct and indirect patient care in MOB Recovery Department setting.
+ You will communicate with physicians/Nurse Manager/co-workers, as appropriate about changes in patient’s clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology.
+ You are able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.
+ You will have the ability to perform a head-to-toe assessment on all patients and reassessments as per policy. This includes: adolescent to geriatric and the general patient population.
+ You will revise plan of care as indicated by the patient’s response to treatment and evaluates overall plan daily for effectiveness
+ You will consult other departments as appropriate to provide for an interdisciplinary approach to the patient’s needs
+ You will demonstrate an ability to assist physicians with procedures and performs services requiring technical and manual skills.
+ You will identify and address psychosocial needs of patients and family; communicates with social service/discharge planner regarding both in hospital and post discharge needs
Qualifications:
+ Current State of Utah or Compact Registered Nurse License.
+ American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification within 7 days of hire.
+ American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Life Support Course (ALS or ACLS) and Certification. Must obtain ACLS certification within 90 days from date of hire and then maintain certifications.
+ **Experience interpreting rhythms/EKG strongly preferred**
+ Previous ICU or PACU related experience required
