Cardiac Perfusionist - Per Diem
**Employment Type:** Part time **Shift:** Day Shift **Description:** Days 8 hour shift + **POSITION SUMMARY:** Under the direction of the cardiac surgeon, sets up and maintains the heart lung machine and monitors the patient during open heart surgical procedures. Provides technical and clinical support to the perioperative care team. **EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:** Graduate of an accredited school of perfusion.NYS perfusion licensure or eligibility for licensure. Participates in orientation and continuing education and updates and maintains knowledge and skills related to specific areas of expertise. **SPECIAL EQUIPMENT, SKILLS OR OTHER REQUIREMENTS:** Demonstrates manual dexterity and ability to handle mechanical equipment and instruments. **WORK ENVIRONMENT AND HAZARDS:** OSHA Category I. Hazards include risk of exposure to communicable diseases, hazardous materials, and risk of physical injury. Intermittent to regular exposure to unpleasant physical condition, occasional to regular exposure to situations that could cause moderate to serious injury or illness. Job related tasks involve the potential for mucous membrane contact or skin contact with blood, body fluids, or tissues. **PHYSICAL DEMANDS:** Moderate pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, standing, walking, stooping and reaching. **WORK CONTACT GROUP:** Patients, employees, cardiac surgeons, anesthesiologists and operating room staff. **SUPERVISED BY:** Cardiac Surgery Section Chief, Director of Surgical Services and Perfusion Coordinator. **SUPERVISES:** NonePay Range: $79.59 - $108.97Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates.
