**Job Summary**
The Cardiac Device Tech 2 handles tasks related to implanted cardiac device management. Performs or delegates ICD, Pacemaker, and ILR evaluations for outpatients, inpatients, and procedure areas. Serves as a resource and mentor to team members.
**Essential Functions of the Role**
+ Serves as a resource to physicians and other practice employees regarding device patients and services.
+ Assesses the condition and appearance of the implant site. Documents any abnormality. Interrogates, interprets, and re-programs cardiac devices with minimal physician supervision.
+ Ensures charges are accurately captured for device interrogation.
+ Troubleshoots critical device issues and takes immediate steps toward resolution. Partners with physicians about device status and accurately documents device research in EMR for review.
+ Educates patients on all aspects of their device including remote monitoring and follow-up protocol.
+ Provides mentorship and training to junior staff in cardiac device interrogation policies and procedures. Teaches arrhythmia recognition to ensure safe testing methods.
+ Promotes a healthy clinical environment and good working relationships. Participates in positive, proactive inter- and intra-departmental communication.
+ Keeps equipment in good working condition and notifies appropriate personnel of problem areas or safety issues.
+ Ensures programming rooms are adequately stocked with necessary supplies.
+ Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations.

+ Thorough knowledge of cardiac device management and related equipment.
+ Knowledge of cardiac arrhythmias.
+ Proficiency in ECG interpretation.
+ Basic computer skills and electronic management of medical records.
+ Excellent communication and listening skills.
+ Proven skills in medical procedures.
+ Attention to detail.
+ Must be able to read, write, speak, and comprehend the English language. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
+ EDUCATION - H.S. Diploma/GED Equivalent
+ EXPERIENCE - 2 Years of Experience
+ CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION -
Basic Life Support (BLS): BLS or BLS within 30 days of hire or transfer.
Cert Cardiac Device Spec (CCDS): Certified Cardiac Device Spec via IHBRE or previous NASPE.
