EDUCATION: Two-year degree, preferably in an engineering discipline or a specialized technical degree. Mechanical aptitude necessary. Exceptions may be made when practical experience exists and performance in a prior technical position has been demonstrated.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of three (3) years manufacturing experience or demonstrated proficiency as an Engineering Tech “A”. Ability to read and interpret blue prints and customer requirements is required. Ability to use common manufacturing measuring equipment is required. CAD experience is a plus. Good communication skills are required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/EQUIPMENT USED: Repetitive lifting may be required consisting of lifting/maneuvering of gauges, fixtures, core dies, anodes, setters, etc. Must be able to endure walking and/or standing approximately 30% of the work time. Extensive amounts of time at a computer may be required. Good eyesight is necessary; employee must be able to satisfy the requirements of A.I.M300, 03.02, Eye Exams by passing both the Near Vision and Color Vision tests at a minimum. Duties are performed in manufacturing and office areas where compliance to safety rules is required.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Use of computer and related equipment required. Problem solving skills are necessary. Able to organize and follow through on projects. Must be knowledgeable in spreadsheet software and other computer engineering tools. Good communication skills, oral and written are necessary. Completion of a skills test demonstrating proficiencies may be required.
JOB SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for using the structured light systems (and other systems as applicable) to scan cores, core dies, setters, setter tools, and related products. Individual(s) in this position will use computer software to create graphical comparisons, trend analysis, 2D and 3D geometric dimensioning, and automated reporting. This position is one of an advanced skill set in which the individual has demonstrated abilities to take on complex projects from beginning to end.
