Job Title: Capitol Financial Analyst

Compensation: $50.00/hr.

The Capital Analyst on the Project Intake team plays a critical role in evaluating software-related capital projects. This position ensures compliance with internal capitalization policies and supports accurate financial classification of project activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Assessment & Intake
+ Review incoming project requests for alignment with capital policy and strategic objectives.
+ Validate completeness of Statements of Work (SOWs) and supporting documentation.
Capital vs. O&M Analysis
+ Analyze project deliverables and costs to determine proper classification (CapEx vs. OpEx).
+ Provide clear documentation and recommendations for financial coding.
Stakeholder Collaboration
+ Partner with IT teams, Finance, and project managers to ensure accurate intake and classification.
+ Communicate findings and recommendations in clear, concise language for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Governance & Compliance
+ Ensure adherence to internal capital software policy and regulatory requirements.
+ Maintain accurate records for audit and reporting purposes.
Process Improvement
+ Identify opportunities to streamline intake and classification workflows.
+ Leverage automation and AI tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot) to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Preferred Skills & Competencies Minimum Qualifications:
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
+ Ability to exercise independent judgment and initiative in complex scenarios.
+ Excellent communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams.
+ Familiarity with AI and automation tools for process optimization.
+ Knowledge of IT project lifecycle and software implementation practices.
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience).
+ Experience with fixed assets, capital project management, or capital project budgeting preferred.
+ Understanding of CapEx vs. OpEx principles and financial governance.
