Lumwana Mining Company is seeking to recruit a highly committed employee for the position of Capital Buyer Internto join the versatile Supply Chain team. We are in search of an individual who can champion Barrick's DNA by:

Reporting to the Capital Buyer, you will be responsible for ensuring timely and efficient fulfillment of orders by coordinating communication and actions across various departments and external business partners including freight forwarders 

Duties and responsibility for this position will include but not limited to the following.

Undertake Capital Sourcing Activities compliant with legislation, company policies, procedures and ethical guidelines. Provide timely and efficient Capital Sourcing for both goods and services to meet customer expectations and deadlines. Ensure best value for money is achieved in all Capital sourcing activities through diligent negotiation. Maintain constant and productive liaison with relevant stakeholders. Expedite delivery of Capital Purchase orders.

To be considered for the position, one must meet the following requirements: 

Grade 12 School Certificate. Degree in Purchasing and Supply or CIPS equivalent. Member of Zambia Institute of Purchasing and Supply. Experience in the Mining Sector or other busy 24-hour Operation Industries. High level of computer skills – Microsoft Word and Excel, and any computerized accounting package. Conversant with ERP systems i.e. SAP System
