**FUNCTIONS:**
The job requires the ability to perform all of the requirements to operate the equipment or a canister line to produce high quality canisters of product to meet the specifications of Nestlé USA.
**DUTIES:**
1. Operate and control the equipment in regards to making a quality product in accordance to specifications.
1. Maintain a ready supply of packaging components to keep the line on a continuous running of product. Communicate with lift truck driver of your needed components and 2nd floor operators when necessary.
1. Clear equipment jams in a safe manner.
1. Maintain clean and safe work area by performing regular and scheduled cleanups on the machine, your work area and other areas as directed by your Supervisor.
1. Perform visual code checks, quality appearance checks, and recorded quality checks as per the Quality Assurance specifications for the line operators. Maintain various records and logs on production and downtime.
1. Communicate with maintenance and Supervisor when the machine is not operating properly so the equipment can be repaired. Work with Maintenance on the mechanical problem.
1. Repack good canisters from damaged cases returned to the line from the casers or palletizers. The damaged canisters should be recycled through proper procedures.
1. Perform other duties assigned to you by your Supervisor.
**RESPONSIBILITIES:**
Responsible for supplying packaging components to operate equipment. Rejects any canister damaged or not meeting specifications. Maintain clean environment. Communicate with the operators, Supervisor and maintenance. Ability to operate the depalletizer, filler, capper, seamer, Garvin checkerweigher, scale and conveyor track. As the operator, you have immediate responsibility to inspect the equipment to insure that it is operating properly and notify the Supervisor and/or maintenance when it was not. Performs routine adjustments. Wears proper head protection. Must evaluate packaging supplies acceptability in terms of appearance and accountability. Employee will perform rework of usable product to reduce waste and will run equipment in such a manner as to insure an efficient operation.
**HOURLY JOB REQUIREMENTS:**
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Previous lift truck certification and experience highly desired.
Previous experience in a food manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
Must have basic proficiency of English language to comply with verbal and written directions, signs, policies and procedures.
Willing and able to stand on a frequent basis.
Willing and able to work overtime.
Willing and able to work various shifts.
Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
**This is a **2nd shift** position. **4pm – 12am** core hours with mandatory overtime that could be before or after core hours**
Pay $28.25/hour
