Summary
Provides support within the Oncology Data Department with the primary responsibility of performing various administrative and clerical tasks to ensure compliance with established Departmental policies and guidelines, the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer Program Standards and other standard-setters. This includes planning, coordinating, and preparing all Multidisciplinary Cancer Case Conferences, maintaining and processing records and documents of all Multidisciplinary Cancer Case Conferences, conducting patient follow-up utilizing acceptable resources, recording of patient demographics in the cancer registry database, and other duties that support the Department.
Job DutiesPerforms a variety of administrative and clerical duties to support cancer registry operations in meeting all the requirements related to the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer and other accrediting institutions. Prepares and coordinates Multidisciplinary Cancer Case Conferences and Grand Rounds including soliciting cases, retrieving pathology reports, and communicating with physicians, navigators, and offices for cases, preparation and distribution of Agenda, and attending the conferences. Collects, records, and processes attendance data from Multidisciplinary Case Conferences, Grand rounds and other educational activities for submission to the Department of Education. Organizes and maintains files of pathology reports, attendance sheets, staging sheets, and other documents related to Multidisciplinary Cancer Case Conferences. Conducts and maintains follow-up for all cancer patients utilizing acceptable and strategic methods and resources to support the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer accreditation requirements. Assembles and prepares follow-up letters for mailing and/or distribution to physician offices. Maintains and records follow-up letters received from physician offices and/ or external facilities Inputs and records patient demographics into the cancer database using EHR based on pathology reports. Supports the Cancer Registry team with other administrative duties including updating and maintenance of Multidisciplinary Cancer Case Conferences calendar,, conference rooms reservations/booking, answer telephone calls, records meeting minutes, and other duties and/or projects as assigned.
Minimum QualificationsHigh School Diploma/GED 4 years experience working in a healthcare role. Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD9, and ICD 10 codes. Knowledge and proficiency in computer operations. Knowledge of basic office practices, and customer service concepts. Knowledge of HIPAA and Commission on Cancer program standards. Meticulous attention to detail. Comfort in working with Microsoft suite and Webex or virtual meeting software.

Lift and carry 25 lbs. frequent sitting/standing, frequent keyboard use, *patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
