Key Responsibilities:
Review newly identified oncology cases diagnosed and/or treated within the organization for reportability utilizing oncology standard setter requirementsUtilize the electronic medical record and outside facility medical records to analyze and abstract all required oncology diagnosis and treatment data according to cancer registry standard setter agenciesMaintain integrity of the registry database by submitting accurate and timely data in accordance with department benchmarks and state and national regulationsProvide support for the Oncology Service Line and Breast Program accreditation activitiesParticipate in cancer registry quality initiatives, program development and process improvement initiativesEducational Requirements:
Associate degree in Cancer Registry Management or health information related fieldOR
Minimum of 2 years cancer registry experience with current ODS credentialRequired Qualifications:
Knowledge of cancer registry management, anatomy, physiology, diagnostic examination, symptoms/characteristics/behavior of oncology diseases and current methods of treatmentKnowledge and skill in computer applicationsStrong time management with the ability to work independentlyData entry and analytical skillsPreferred Qualifications:
1+ year experience as a cancer registrar Experience with electronic medical records and cancer registry systemsLicensure/Certification Qualifications:Certification/Licensure Required:
