About Business Unit: 

The Finance Business Unit at PAYBACK Italy plays a key role in supporting the financial performance and sustainability of the leading loyalty program in the market. 
The team works at the intersection of finance, data, and customer-centric business models, focusing on budgeting, forecasting, performance monitoring, and value creation related to loyalty initiatives. 

By partnering closely with Marketing, Operations, and other business functions, the Finance team ensures effective financial planning, cost control, and data-driven decision-making across loyalty activities, including customer engagement, rewards economics, and program profitability 

 

Key activities will include: 

Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes in a dynamic, loyalty-focused environment 

Gaining hands-on experience in financial and performance analysis, including loyalty KPIs 

Developing skills in data analysis, reporting, and dashboarding to support business decisions 

Understanding the financial mechanics of loyalty programs, such as rewards costs, customer value, and engagement drivers 

Strengthening collaboration and communication skills by working with cross-functional teams 

 

The intern will: 

Support the Finance team in budgeting and forecasting activities 

Collaborate with the Controllership team during monthly close activities, supporting financial closing processes and data reconciliation. 

Assist with monthly reporting, including variance analysis and tracking of key loyalty KPIs 

Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends related to customer behavior, engagement, and rewards usage 

Prepare presentations and dashboards for internal stakeholders, supporting data-driven decision-making 

Collaborate cross-functionally with Accounting, Marketing, and Operations teams 

Participate in ad-hoc projects aimed at improving financial processes and operational efficiency 

 

Desirable Qualifications/Skills & Experience/Language Requirements: 

Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Business Analytics, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field 

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a business-oriented mindset 

Strong interest in loyalty programs, customer engagement dynamics, and value creation models 

Detail-oriented, proactive, and eager to learn. 

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (e.g. macros, pivots, lookups, VBA) 

Basic knowledge of financial statements and corporate finance concepts 

Basic knowledge of programming or data languages such as Python or SQL 

Basic knowledge with data visualization or analysis tools such as Power BI or Airtable 

Fluent written and verbal communication in English (Level C1 or higher)

Duration: 6 months internship + with potential 6 months renewal 

Hours: 35 hours per week
