Must be enrolled at the University of Utah to apply. This position will work directly with the Student Engagement and Leadership ( SLE ) Events Manager by assisting with the creation, planning and implementation of various large-scale student events to help grow connection, community, and a sense of “College Town Magic”. The Student Events Assistant role will contribute to the University of Utah’s vision of “College Town Magic” by thinking of new activities/themes for student events, enhancing existing programs/events and developing new and innovative opportunities for students to University of Utah. This hands-on experience will help the right candidate learn invaluable event planning skills, creative thinking, problem solving techniques, and budget management. This position is ideal for students seeking experience in planning events and who thrive in a fast-paced environment. Examples of student events that this position will be involved in the planning of include but are not limited to: U-Night (late night campus parties), Red Shred (ski/snowboard night), Campus Ski Rail Jam, Football Watch Parties, Neon Night, Movie Nights, and more! **Responsibilities** 1. Assist with program planning, implementation, setup/cleanup of events. 2. Brainstorming new event themes/activities and way to improve events 3. Assists in the creation and distribution of marketing materials, forms, and general correspondence. 4. Track and report on current trends to determine future program needs and gaps in programming. 5. Work late night events. 6. Other duties as assigned 7.
