Education Specialist CalTPA Assessor Qualifications
Pearson offers compensation packages that reward exceptional quality and productivity. Scoring is generally compensated at a base rate of $25 per hour scoring, with training paid at $19 per hour. Milestone pay increases of $0.40 per hour are earned for every 400 hours paid.
To be eligible to score the Education Specialist California Teaching Performance Assessment (EdSpec CalTPA), an applicant MUST meet the following requirements and attest to these requirements at least once annually.
Compensation at Pearson is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location.

Be a current (or retired within 3 years) California education professional in one (1) or more of the following capacities:
College, University, and/or LEA:
District/University/ program educator providing instruction to EdSp teacher candidates within a MMSN, ESN, ECSE, DHH or VI CTC-accredited teacher preparation program Field supervisor in MMSN, ESN, ECSE, DHH or VI setting Cooperating Teacher or Mentor Teacher in MMSN, ESN, ECSE, DHH, or VI settingPK-22 Setting:
MMSN, ESN, ECSE, DHH or VI Teacher (PK-22) MMSN, ESN, ECSE, DHH or VI Administrator (PK-22) (e.g., principal, assistant principal) Instructional Coach or Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA) in MMSN, ESN, ECSE, DHH or VIRequired:
Hold a valid California Clear EdSp Credential (MMSN, ESN, ECSE, DHH, or VI) Hold a valid California Clear EdSp Credential with an added authorization in Early Childhood Special EducationLITERACY
AND have additional expertise in one (1) of the following ways:
Hold a Bilingual Authorization Have completed (and have documentation of) professional learning of a structured literacy program Non-exhaustive examples are: LETRS, Orton Gillingham, SIPPS, CORE, Institute of Multi-Sensory Education, 95% Group, Wilsons, S.P.I.R.E., CRLP Results, etc. Have university experience teaching coursework in literacy within the last 5 years Hold a degree or graduate certificate in literacy Reading or literacy researcher with relevant recent teaching experience National Board-Certified Teacher (NBCT) in Literacy: Reading-Language Arts- Early and Middle ChildhoodReading and Literacy Added Authorization or Reading and Literacy Leadership Specialist Credential
MATH
AND have additional expertise in one (1) or more of the following ways:
Hold a degree in the content area of Math Hold a degree in the content area of Liberal Arts, Liberal Studies, Elementary Education with a concentration or a minor in math Hold a degree in Deaf Studies Hold a degree in one of the following: Child Development, Child and Adolescent Development, Human Development, Early Education, Child and Family Studies, Early Childhood Studies, Early Childhood Education, Human Development and Family Science, Family Science, or Child, Adolescent, and Family Studies) National Board-Certified Teacher (NBCT) in MMSN, ESN, ECSE, DHH or VI Hold an added authorization in one or more of the following areas: Introductory or Supplementary authorization in Mathematics, Mathematics Instructional Leadership Specialist Credential (MILS) (Formerly Mathematics Specialist Instruction Credential), and/or Mathematics Instructional Added Authorization (MIAA)Apply here: https://survey.vovici.com/se/058F3B57333A4240
