Element has an opportunity for a Calibration and Maintenance Manager to join our rapidly expanding team. The Calibration and Maintenance Manager is responsible for ensuring that all EMC, RF, and SAR test equipment across Element’s laboratories is properly calibrated, maintained, and audit-ready in accordance with internal standards and ISO/IEC 17025 requirements. This role supports not only the California lab but also collaborates with other locations (e.g., Maryland, Suwon) to maintain global consistency. Responsibilities include calibration oversight, equipment/system checks, chamber maintenance, audit preparation, and cross-site technical support. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and experienced in managing technical lab environments with diverse equipment portfolios.

 

Salary: $95-130K/year

Responsibilities

Calibration & Equipment Management

Track, maintain, and verify calibration records for all lab equipment (EMC, RF, and SAR)Coordinate equipment shipment for calibration and inspection upon returnVerify calibration certificates, labels, and compliance with internal and ISO 17025 standardsMaintain calibration schedules and proactively track upcoming requirements across multiple sitesUpdate calibration databases (e.g., Airtable, SharePoint) and ensure accuracy for global audits

Lab Maintenance & Organization

Perform routine chamber maintenance, including antennas, masts, cables, positioners, and turntablesConduct and document system loss checks quarterly (or as needed)Update and calculate measurement uncertainties for multiple test setups and frequency rangesManage inventory and organization of RF/EMC/SAR equipment including analyzers, generators, callboxes, antennas, SAR systems (e.g., DASY, cSAR3D), probes, and phantomsMaintain inventory of accessories (cables, connectors, adapters, filters, etc.) and assist in procurement

 

Testing & Verification Support

Validate and verify equipment performance post-calibration or as requiredUpdate and maintain SOPs for equipment and chamber verification (NSA, sVSWR, SAR validationsPlan, schedule, and execute verification tests (NSA, sVSWR, SAR system checks, substitution/correlation tests)Support setup and validation of new chambers or SAR/RF test systemsAssist with correlation studies and round-robin activities across global labs

 

Audit & Accreditation Support

Provide support for accreditation audits (ISO 17025, ISO 17065, A2LA) across multiple locationsPrepare documentation, calibration records, and compliance verification for both internal and external audits
Assist with corrective action responses and continuous improvement initiativesGlobal Cross-Lab SupportCoordinate with teams in Maryland, Suwon, and other labs to align calibration and maintenance schedulesSupport other labs remotely and onsite by conducting NSA/sVSWR/SAR system measurements and troubleshooting equipmentShare best practices and support harmonization of procedures across global Element labsContribute to training materials and deliver technical support sessions for engineers and technicians globally Skills / Qualifications Proven experience in calibration, lab maintenance, or a related technical roleFamiliarity with ISO/IEC 17025 and calibration procedures; ISO 17065 experience a plusHands-on experience with RF/EMC and SAR testing equipment (e.g., DASY, cSAR3D) strongly preferredStrong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracyProficiency with calibration/lab management tools (e.g., Airtable, SharePoint, LIMS)Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and maintain lab readiness under tight timelinesStrong communication and collaboration skills to support multi-site operationsAbility to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
