Kimley-Horn is looking for an Experienced Cadworx Designer for our Natural Gas team in Virigina Beach. This is not a remote position.
Responsibilities The person in this position will make and quality check drawings and plans of substantial complexity and may perform some multifaceted calculationsDevelop intelligent 3D models of piping, steel, and equipment layouts using CADWorx and AutoCAD Plant 3D Generate PFDs, P&IDs, fabrication drawings, and modular skid designs Collaborate with engineers and project managers to ensure designs meet project specifications and industry standards Perform design reviews and redlining using CADWorx Design Review Professional Maintain drawing/database connectivity and ensure synchronization between project databases and drawings Identify and resolve potential design conflicts, including utility clashes and installation constraintsPerform quality control checks and provide feedback to team membersRequires minimal supervision to perform day to day tasksHas knowledge of engineering principles and suggests design changesMaintains drawing databaseMay supervise and train CAD staffDevelop familiarity with Kimley-Horn’s practices, procedures, and standards Qualifications High School Degree (Preferred Associates Degree (or higher) with emphasis on Drafting and Design Technology from an accredited technical institution or college in engineering)3+ years experience in Cadworx Plant Professional for piping and equipment modelingMust be proficient in using AutoCAD and BluebeamStrong understanding of piping layout standards and construction practicesStrong organizational skills and ability to prioritize projects and tasksExperience in creating CAD tools and symbol databases Why Kimley-Horn?At Kimley-Horn, we do things differently.
