Job Title: CAD Technician Job Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing survey plats and maps, including boundary surveys, as-built surveys, topographic surveys, and utility route surveys. These tasks must meet the requirements of various agencies such as VDOT, USACE, and NAVFAC. Work assignments may vary depending on the office's needs and will be communicated by the office manager. Responsibilities also include individual project management, courthouse research, processing data collected by survey crews, preparation of CAD files, construction staking calculations, and occasional fieldwork.
Responsibilities
+ Prepare survey plats and maps including boundary, as-built, and topographic surveys.
+ Meet the requirements of various agencies such as VDOT, USACE, and NAVFAC.
+ Manage individual projects and perform courthouse research.
+ Process data collected by survey crews.
+ Prepare CAD files and perform construction staking calculations.
+ Engage in occasional fieldwork.
Essential Skills
+ Minimum of 5 years of surveying-related experience.
+ Proficiency in using Carlson and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
+ Experience using or exposure to MicroStation with GeoPak and/or OpenRoads.
+ Satisfactory completion of a Survey/CAD related degree from an accredited college, vocational/technical school, or military training may substitute for two years of the required experience.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Ability to work with minimal supervision to complete projects with demanding scopes and schedules.
Work Environment
The position involves work-sharing, which may lead to temporary assignments to other offices' projects, requiring travel. While there is an effort to balance individual schedules, unexpected travel and weekend stays may be necessary. The candidate must be willing and able to travel throughout Virginia and surrounding states and work overtime as needed. Offices are located in Virginia, Maryland, and Florida. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $58240.00 - $70720.00/yr.
