CAD Platform Administrator (m/w/d)

**In this role, you have the opportunity to**
Contribute to the development of HPM monitoring products by managing and continuously improving the CAD application platform used by the HPM R&D function. This global platform supports both eCAD and mCAD design processes across development sites in Germany, the US, the Netherlands, China, India, and Brazil.
As the functional and technical lead, you will ensure operational continuity together with an external service partner, combining technological decision-making with project and service management activities.
**Your role**
As a **CAD Specialist** , you will:
+ Lead the development, configuration, and change management of CAD applications within projects or based on change requests for the HPM business (Mechanical and Electrical Design departments).
+ Ensure the continuous operation of the Mechanical and Electrical Design environments.
+ Act as the main contact for approximately 200 users across China, India, Germany, Brazil, and the USA.
+ Provide remote support (via email and Microsoft Teams).
+ Conduct acceptance testing for new CAD software and manage deployment to users.
+ Maintain and expand CAD libraries:
+ **Xpedition Library:** Creation of parts requiring 3D representations for interference checks and related uses.
+ **Mechanical Library:** Management of components within the Engineering Database Management System (ME CAD suite).
+ Develop additional tools or functionalities when justified by user needs and business value.
+ Support additional tools, including license server management for Mechanical and Electrical Design departments.
+ Ensure system stability for design environments, including management of bundled Apache servers.
+ Maintain internal documentation (Wiki) with best practices, help pages, and technical guidance.
+ Maintain a MariaDB database used for managing electronic component data and preferred parts lists.
+ Participate in OS and software maintenance of CAD servers across four global locations (China, India, Germany, USA).
**You’re the right fit if you have**
+ A Master’s degree or diploma in **Mechanical Engineering** , **Electrical/Electronic Engineering** , **Applied Sciences** , or a related discipline.
+ **Proven experience in technical user support** — ideally in a CAD or engineering tool environment, with the ability to communicate effectively with global stakeholders.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to proactively identify and address emerging issues.
+ Openness to learning new technologies and adapting to evolving environments.
**Technical experience and tools:**
Training will be provided where necessary.
+ **Mechanical CAD:** Creo Elements/Direct Modeling Suite
+ **Electronic CAD:** Siemens Enterprise Xpedition Suite
+ **Programming/Scripting Languages:** LISP, PowerShell, vb.NET, C++, Java, Bash (Cygwin on Windows)
+ **Version Control:** RCS, Mercurial, Linux-based systems
+ Familiarity with FDA-compliant data management systems (e.g., eDeviceMasterRecord / eDocumentManagementSystem) is a plus.
**How we work together**
We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week.
Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities.
Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.
