Cable Assembler - $23/hr
Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Cable Assembler to join our team. This role involves assembling and testing the performance of fiber optic cables and wire harnesses. You will work at your own station with the necessary tools, focusing on mechanical assembly, alignment, and testing of component parts. Your work will be guided by electromechanical schematics, drawings, work instructions, and bills of material.
Responsibilities
Assemble and test the performance of all manufactured cables and sub-assemblies.Perform mechanical assembly of small equipment using hand tools, power tools, soldering equipment, and fixtures.Interpret and work from electromechanical schematics, drawings, work instructions, and bills of material.Mount complex assembled components with manual dexterity using hand tools, light soldering equipment, volt meters, and other test instrumentation.Connect component lead wires to printed circuits and route wires between components, connectors, terminals, and contact points.Position and align parts in specified relationships using jigs, fixtures, or other holding devices.Join or secure parts in place using crimping, staking, screwing, bolting, riveting, welding, soldering, cementing, and press fitting.Use automated cable test equipment and multimeters.Inspect parts and perform basic tests using hand tools.Record and document work on production records, logs, and other report forms.Route and lace cables, install components and parts such as switches on chassis, circuit boards, panels, and other units.Attach wires and connectors to form circuitry and connect assembly to power supply sources, switch panels, or junction boxes.Attach hardware and seal assembly.Essential Skills
Experience in cable assembly with a minimum of 2 years.Knowledge of crimping, soldering, wiring, and cable assembly.Ability to load programs on the computer to review drawings and blueprints.Experience working with wire gauges from 24 to 00.Proficiency in using hand tools.Understanding of IPC-A-610 and IPC-WHMA-A-650 standards.Experience in performing through-hole and surface-mount soldering.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Working knowledge of IPC standards.Ability to work under a microscope for soldering tasks.Knowledge of rework on defective parts.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
The role follows a 9/80 schedule with work hours from 7:15 AM to 4:45 PM Monday to Thursday, and every other Friday off. On the Friday worked, hours are 7:15 AM to 3:45 PM, with potential opportunities for overtime. The work environment is within a small company, providing the chance to interact with colleagues at various levels, including engineers and executive leadership.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
