Cable Assembler

Job Description
The cable assembler builds cables with MIL connectors, wire harnesses, and small mechanical parts. Must be familiar with military and industry standards.
Key Tasks:
- Assemble and test cables and sub-assemblies.
- Understand and follow detailed drawings and instructions.
- Use hand tools, power tools, soldering equipment, and fixtures.
- Assemble fiber optic cables.
- Connect wires to circuit boards and components.
- Mount parts in jigs or fixtures.
- Crimp, screw, weld, solder, or secure parts to assemble devices.
- Use test equipment like multimeters.
- Solder and de-solder surface-mount and through-hole components.
- Inspect parts for defects and rework if needed.
- Follow safety procedures when handling chemicals and tools.
- Record production and inspection details.
- Provide basic training to other assemblers.
- Route and attach wires and cables.
- Install components such as switches and connectors.
- Test finished units for functionality and repair if necessary.
Important Qualities:
- Detail-oriented with experience in cable manufacturing.
- Able to follow detailed instructions and drawings.
- Understands electrical and mechanical assembly.

Skills and Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 2+ years of experience in cable and harness assembly.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office. - Experience with fiber optic cables is a plus. null
