Aircraft Cabin Equipment Engineer responsible for delivering certified cabin equipment designs and managing supplier coordination to meet program technical, schedule, and cost targets.
Job Requirements
BS degree in Engineering or related technical field
6+ years of experience within the aviation industry
Minimum 3 years of experience in aircraft cabin engineering and development processes
Knowledge of aircraft cabin design, certification, and qualification requirements
Experience defining and validating equipment interfaces to aircraft structures and systems
Experience leading technical design reviews and milestone meetings
Authorized to work in the US
Preferred Skills
Experience managing General Requirements for Equipment & System Suppliers (GRESS) deliverables
Background working with airline customers and external suppliers on cabin programs
Experience with change management for aircraft interiors or cabin equipment
Familiarity with verification, validation, and declaration of design performance processes
Experience driving supplier performance improvements and transformation projects
Job Responsibilities
Deliver fully qualified cabin equipment designs meeting technical, weight, schedule, quality, and cost targets
Manage GRESS deliverables for the program, including determining applicable items, maintaining action logs, and driving closure of open actions
Prepare and lead Initial Technical Coordination Meetings (ITCM), Preliminary Design Reviews (PDR), Critical Design Reviews (CDR), and major milestone meetings with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
Define and validate interfaces to the aircraft, including development and validation of customized module installation requirements for structural and system interfaces
Update and maintain Customized Technical Specifications based on validated interface points and design changes
Guide and perform qualification, verification, and validation activities for cabin equipment designs, including release of Declarations of Design Performance (DDP)
Ensure designs achieve full certification and that all required data for validation, testing, and certification are delivered in line with program milestones
Initiate, monitor, and manage supplier improvements and transformation projects to ensure compliance with requirements and processes
Analyze and evaluate change requests based on customer needs, manufacturing constraints, and design requirements
Pay Details: $40.00 to $54.00 per hour
