We are looking for an engineering director to lead the Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance Systems (C4ISRS) Systems Engineering organization. This highly visible, director level position is responsible for all aspects of systems engineering performance in support of the business area, including the application of systems engineering processes, tools, talent acquisition and development, and program performance. You will lead a large (350 ) organization through a digital transformation that embraces model-based engineering, DevSecOps, and agile development and aligns with the direction of the overarching BAE Systems engineering organization. Specific Responsibilities Include: + Lead and grow a best-in-class team of systems engineers that deliver excellent results + Cultivate engineering and operational excellence through best practices, agile practices, metrics and continuous learning + Partner with the other business area leaders to ensure business objectives and strategy are achieved + Work closely with the Product Line Engineering Leads and Discipline Managers to staff near term project demands while defining and executing robust talent management plans + Attract, retain, and develop a healthy pipeline of future technical leaders and engineering talent across the organization to support the business needs + Identify, maintain, and develop key skills required to meet business objectives in support of a multi-year strategy + Successfully drive continuous process improvement initiatives to increase efficiencies, meet cost objectives, support execution needs, promote agility and ensure adoption within the organization + Establish goals and standards of performance, create budgets, staffing plans, and short and long-term strategic roadmaps/plans + Administer performance, compensation, and recognition programs in alignment with business needs, company values, and budgets + Understand industry trends and best practices to ensure BAE Systems develops and maintains the capabilities required to provide technical discriminators + Provide technical leadership, leverage and apply modern Systems development technologies (MBSE, Cloud computing, etc), and lead enterprise wide initiatives + Provide leadership and direction for Test Engineering and Design for Test; ensuring business objectives are met as well as driving quality and reliability. This position can be based out of any of the following Electronic Systems sites: San Diego CA, Wayne NJ, Greenlawn NY, Manassas VA, Fort Wayne IN, Hudson NH, or Merrimack NH Because this role involves a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work, it will take the form of a hybrid work format, with time split between working onsite and remotely. **Required Education, Experience, & Skills** + Bachelor s Degree in engineering with a minimum of 12 years of engineering management experience + Broad understanding of systems engineering and the DoD product development lifecycle + Proven track record of increasing responsibilities in managing organizations of significant complexity, including managing development projects through all aspects of the systems engineering lifecycle from requirements thru IV&V, production, and sustainment + Active Secret Clearance + Eligible to obtain a TS/SCI Security Clearance **Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills** + Proven ability to lead a dynamic organization across multiple sites + Proven performance management, mentoring, coaching and communication skills + Knowledge of and experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) + Proven ability to lead Agile, DevSecOps and digital transformation initiatives **Pay Information** Full-Time Salary Range: $169630 - $288370 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
