THE JOB
This position will oversee management of budgets and financial statements for multiple events and festivals, as well as analyze key financial schedules/deliverables and assist in other accounting functions as needed.
WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO
Manage show budgets; work with various departments to update forecasts and provide financial analysis of variances after forecast updates to confirm updates are appropriate & in line with expectationsMonth end close; prepare event P&L (or flash) and event related journal entries post show, including accruals and appropriate reclassesPerform financial analysis of variances between actuals and forecast to determine if misstatements exist each month prior to ledger locking and make corrections as neededReview various settlements immediately following the show and record necessary JEs (Revenue, CoPro & venue shares per existing agreements)Work directly with Staff Accountant to mentor, assist, and delegate workload accordingly, including:working with AP/AR Specialists to ensure that all receivables, receipts, and payable items are processed and recorded accurately and timely as neededassistance with cash/pex requests, returns and show checks as neededreconcile GL activity against processed purchase orders on a regular basis to ensure accuracy - identify and correct any discrepancies.Work closely with operations to determine expected revenue projection updates during the festival weekend and communicate material updates to SVP, Controller & assigned Manager immediately following the showCash flow projectionsFile and pay monthly, quarterly & annual sales tax as required. Set up accounts with local, city and state tax authorities when necessaryManage payables workflow and authorizing invoices within a specified thresholdAssist in preparation of annual budgets including providing financial analysis of variances after budget is loaded to confirm swings from prior year actuals are appropriate or if further communication with operations is necessary.Maintain accounting files; provide audit support as needed, ensure that files are in compliance with GAAP and all company policies and proceduresPerform other accounting functions as assigned
