BWR Fuels Engineer/ Analyst / Physicist

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

A minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited institution is required. An advanced degree in Engineering, or related field with specialties in nuclear fuel and/or safety analysis is preferred. Degree(s) in Nuclear Engineering is preferred, but not required.

Experience:

The following experience is required:

Eight (8) years of nuclear power plant or related industrial experience is required. Ten (10) years of nuclear power plant or related industrial experience is preferred. 

The following experiences are highly desired:

Experience with applications of BWR reactor physics. Experience with BWR fuel and core design, and AOO analysis. Experience with FSAR Chapter 6 and 15 safety analyses. Experience with GE-Hitachi (GEH)/Global Nuclear Fuel (GNF) nuclear methods. Experience with CASMO/SIMULATE methods. Experience associated with the systems, design, and analysis of entire SNC nuclear fleet of BWRs.

Knowledge and Skills:

Ability to clearly state vision and desired outcomes for projects under your responsibility and control. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels in the plant and engineering organizations and with external stakeholders (vendors, industry groups, regulatory agencies). Experience managing development and implementation of complex projects with multiple work phases. Proven ability to build and sustain strong relationships. Extensive knowledge of regulatory infrastructure related to energy policy, commercial nuclear reactor operation, and deployment of innovation. Excellent written and oral communications skills. Comfortable providing and presenting information to all levels of the organization. Ability to comprehend complex reactor physics/design problems and provide solutions is required. Demonstrated proficiency in autonomous use of engineering judgement and decision making. Self-starter capable of performing tasks with little supervision or oversight. Must exhibit an exceptional degree of technical expertise, creativity, and resourcefulness.

MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

BWR Fuel Lead Engineer responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Be responsible for driving for results in key initiatives. Serve as the single point of contact for communication with internal and external stakeholders on key initiatives. Provide technical leadership for activities related to nuclear fuel and core design, licensing, and operation. Provide technical oversight and support to personnel in the Nuclear Fuel and Reactor Engineering functional area for the SNC fleet. Provide mentoring of less experienced Fuel Engineering personnel. Influence the team behaviors related to Our Values and delivering on our Key Business Results May serve as a member of the Emergency Response Organization.
