**BWR Fuels Engineer/ Analyst / Physicist** **JOB SUMMARY:** Southern Nuclear Operating Company's BWR Fuel Engineering department is responsible for nuclear fuel and core design, core management, operational support, reload safety analysis (e.g. Chapter 15 events), and reload licensing to support two BWR nuclear units. This challenging and rewarding position will be responsible for delivering engineering products for activities related to nuclear fuel and core design, licensing and operation, transient and accident analyses, and technical evaluations regarding BWR nuclear fuel and advanced nuclear fuel innovations. SNC’s Nuclear Fuel & Analysis department also offers outstanding opportunities for innovation in the realm of nuclear fuel and core design. **JOB REQUIREMENTS:** **Education:** + A minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited institution is required OR + Accredited undergraduate degree in Applied Science, Mathematics, AND a Master of Science in Nuclear Engineering from an ABET accredited program. + Degree(s) in Nuclear Engineering is preferred. + An advanced degree in Engineering, or related field with specialties in nuclear fuel and/or safety analysis is preferred. (Note: The position title will be determined based on individual’s educational qualifications.) **Experience:** The following experience is required: + Nuclear power plant or related industrial experience.
