Job Description

This role involves sourcing, monitoring, and negotiating with suppliers during the bid process to secure the best pricing, quality, and lead time for materials used in the production process. The position also includes planning and overseeing the release and movement of purchase orders and delivery dates to support production schedules.

Responsibilities

Source, monitor, and negotiate with suppliers to obtain best pricing, quality, and lead time for production materials.Plan, release, and monitor purchase orders and delivery dates to support production schedules.Coordinate with suppliers for returns and replenishment of discrepant materials to minimize impact on production.Assist in conducting supplier audits, both internal and external.Interface with suppliers, engineering, quality, and production teams to maintain material availability and flow.Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications Required

Manufacturing experience within defense, automotive, and aerospace industries is preferred.4+ years of comparable purchasing experience is required.Experience in a government contracting environment, including familiarity with FAR Clauses.Ability to read technical drawings and understand Bills of Materials.Familiarity with various commodities and component manufacturing methods.Excellent written and oral communication skills.Strong organizational skills.Proficiency in Microsoft applications.

Work Environment

This position is based onsite in Janesville, with a unique 9/80 schedule offering every other Friday off. The company offers a strong culture and environment with a very tenured staff and room for advancement. Additionally, there is a $13k scholarship available for employees' children who are entering college.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Janesville, Wisconsin.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $85000.00/yr.
