Job Title: Manufacturing Procurement and Planning Specialist
Job Description
This role involves procuring and scheduling the manufacturing of materials, components, equipment, supplies, and services necessary for the company's operations. The position requires planning, scheduling, and monitoring goods and services to meet production requirements while employing various techniques such as Just-In-Time (JIT), Kanban, and Blanket Purchase Orders.
Responsibilities
Procure and schedule the manufacturing of materials, components, equipment, supplies, and services necessary for the company's operations.Plan, schedule, and monitor goods and services to meet production requirements using techniques such as JIT, Kanban, Blanket POs, and reschedules.Check requisitions and MRP requirements, contact and evaluate suppliers, examine bids, and make awards.Expedite outstanding materials from suppliers and production as required to meet customer satisfaction goals and enforce escalation procedures as needed.Set up and maintain material, supplier, and planning system data in the MRP/ERP system.Manage MRP/ERP planning and inventory levels to achieve on-time delivery goals and inventory objectives.Develop and manage sub-contract supplier relationships.Exercise a good working knowledge of the planning system, goods, services, and sources of supply.Monitor and maintain inventory levels consistent with demand while maintaining specific inventory targets.Work with production to reconcile discrepancies in receiving and/or processing.Coordinate schedules with Production, Engineering, and Quality to resolve on-time delivery issues, manage production schedules, update run rates, and identify BoM errors or improvements.Process deviations, audit responses, and other compliance requirements as necessary.Determine new material requirements from Engineering and Production schedules and coordinate the efficient movement of materials through the production cycle.Update internal customers and project teams on order status, project status, and production schedules.Work with accounting, suppliers, and production to reconcile discrepancies in receiving and/or invoicing.Maintain metrics to monitor performance and continuous improvement.Accomplish goals and objectives that support department and company objectives, and follow up on objectives to ensure compliance.Support Lean activities and initiatives.Ensure the highest quality standards are maintained in all functions and responsibilities, supporting the company's quality standards.Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.Essential Skills
Bachelor’s Degree in business or related field, or equivalent experience.Minimum of 2 – 4 years of experience in service inventory management.Minimum of 4 years of planning experience in a manufacturing environment.Strong knowledge of MRP principles and materials management.Additional Skills & Qualifications
APICS or related professional certification is preferred.Experience with purchasing, procurement, inventory, production planning, and supply chain management.Work Environment
The role is based in an office setting with regular Monday to Friday hours. This is a temporary contract position covering for a leave, with potential for extension. The position involves working within a medical device manufacturing environment.

This is a Contract position based out of Newbury Park, California.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $38.00/hr.
