Job Title: Procurement & Planning Specialist

Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Procurement & Planning Specialist to join our operations team in a dynamic manufacturing setting. This role is responsible for coordinating the acquisition of materials and supplies necessary to support production schedules, ensuring inventory levels are optimized, and collaborating across departments to maintain supply chain continuity. The position also plays a key role in vendor management and cost-reduction initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:Interpret production forecasts and translate them into actionable procurement plans using material planning tools.Generate and manage purchase orders, ensuring timely delivery of goods and services aligned with operational needs.Maintain and update supplier records within the enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, including lead times, payment terms, and minimum order quantities.Act as the primary contact for purchasing-related inquiries and provide ERP system support for non-inventory procurement.Monitor stock levels and consumption trends to adjust purchasing strategies and avoid shortages or overstock situations.Assess supplier performance and collaborate with vendors to improve service levels and reduce costs.Review and approve internal purchase requests, follow up on order confirmations, and resolve delivery issues.Work closely with production, logistics, finance, and quality teams to ensure procurement activities support broader business objectives.Communicate supply status and potential disruptions to relevant stakeholders in a timely and clear manner.Participate in planning sessions and contribute to initiatives aimed at improving procurement efficiency and reducing operational risk.Analyze procurement metrics and implement process improvements based on data-driven insights.Support sourcing efforts led by site leadership and global procurement teams, including supplier negotiations and project execution.Identify and lead cost-saving opportunities in collaboration with cross-functional teams.Required Qualifications:1–5 years of experience in purchasing, planning, or supply chain roles within a manufacturing environment.Strong analytical capabilities and proficiency in interpreting data for decision-making.Excellent communication and negotiation skills.High attention to detail and commitment to process accuracy.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.Skilled in Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.Experience with ERP and MRP systems; familiarity with JD Edwards (JDE) is advantageous.Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related technical field.Exposure to lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $40.00/hr.
