DESCRIPTION:
As a Buyer III at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you will be responsible for ensuring reliable and cost-effective supply chain operations while contributing to our mission of enabling customers to make the world healthier, cleaner and safer. You will manage strategic supplier relationships, drive procurement initiatives, and collaborate across functions to optimize material availability and inventory levels. This role provides opportunities to guide continuous improvement projects, implement cost savings strategies, and develop effective solutions for supply chain challenges.

Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will analyze requirements, negotiate with suppliers, and ensure on-time delivery of materials critical to our manufacturing operations. You will apply analytical and negotiation skills to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reductions while maintaining high quality standards. This position enables you to contribute to operational excellence while developing your expertise in a dynamic environment.

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, business, or related field 5+ years of experience in procurement/supply chain experience in manufacturing environment, preferably in life sciences or regulated industry Strong proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (SAP, JD Edwards, Oracle) and advanced Microsoft Office skills Strong negotiation abilities and demonstrated success in delivering cost savings Experience with supplier relationship management and performance metrics tracking Demonstrated project management and cross-functional collaboration skills Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities Excellent verbal and written communication skills Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma)
 Ability to work independently and manage multiple concurrent projects Knowledge of inventory management and supply chain optimization techniques
 Experience with new product introduction and change management processes Demonstrated ability to analyze data and generate actionable insights Strong attention to detail and process compliance mindset Experience conducting supplier business reviews
