As a Buyer II at Worley, you will play a vital role in ensuring the timely and cost-effective sourcing of goods and services that support complex projects across the energy, chemicals, and resources sectors. This role directly contributes to Worley’s purpose of delivering a more sustainable world by ensuring materials and equipment are procured responsibly, efficiently, and with a focus on long-term value creation. By collaborating with suppliers, project teams, and stakeholders, you will help advance Worley’s ambition to be recognized as a global leader in sustainability solutions.
Key ResponsibilitiesIdentify, evaluate, and select reliable sources of materials, equipment, and services to support project and customer requirements.
Manage procurement activities for engineered and non-engineered items, ensuring compliance with Worley’s standards and practices.
Conduct competitive sourcing processes, including preparation of requests for quotations and evaluation of supplier bids.
Collaborate with project management, engineering, and supply chain teams to align procurement activities with project goals and sustainability targets.
Negotiate commercial terms and conditions that deliver value while fostering long-term supplier relationships built on trust and transparency.
Monitor supplier performance, addressing delivery, quality, or compliance issues to maintain the highest standards of service.
Apply sound judgment to resolve procurement challenges, recommending solutions that support efficiency, cost management, and schedule performance.
Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance procurement processes, tools, and digital systems.
Provide guidance and technical input to junior team members when required, promoting knowledge sharing and professional development.
Uphold Worley’s commitment to safety, ethical practices, and sustainable procurement in all decision-making.
*Qualifications / Skill SetUniversity degree in supply chain management, procurement, engineering, business, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
Proven experience in procurement or supply chain roles within energy, chemicals, or resource projects, with increasing responsibility.
Strong knowledge of procurement principles, supply chain processes, and sourcing strategies.
Ability to interpret technical specifications and engineering documentation when managing purchases of complex or engineered equipment.
Skilled in negotiation and contract management, with the ability to balance cost efficiency, quality, and long-term supplier relationships.
Proficiency in procurement systems, enterprise resource planning platforms, and digital tools to support effective sourcing.
Strong communication skills, capable of presenting ideas clearly and influencing collaboration across functions and with suppliers.
Analytical mindset with the ability to identify risks, evaluate options, and recommend practical solutions.
