We are seeking an experienced and strategic Buyer to manage the procurement of raw materials, components, and services critical to our CNC operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing procurement, excellent negotiation skills, and proficiency with ERP systems.
Key Responsibilities:Source and procure raw materials, machined parts, tooling, and services to support CNC production.Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure quality, cost, and delivery targets are met.Analyze inventory levels, production schedules, and demand forecasts to plan purchases.Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers.Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues related to quality, delivery, or pricing.Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to align procurement with operational needs.Utilize ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar) to manage purchase orders and inventory data.Identify cost-saving opportunities and support continuous improvement initiatives.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field.5+ years of experience in a purchasing role within a manufacturing environment, preferably CNC or precision machining.Strong knowledge of procurement best practices, supplier management, and contract negotiation.Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP preferred).Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.Ability to read technical drawings and understand machining processes is a plus.Preferred Qualifications:CPM, CPSM, or APICS certification.Experience with lean manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.Work Authorization:Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship now or in the future.Work EnvironmentThe work schedule is Monday to Friday, with start times between 7-8 am for an 8-hour shift with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. The role reports to the CFO and involves collaboration with another purchasing agent. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $80000.00/hr.
