Job Title: BuyerJob Description We are seeking a motivated Buyer to join our dynamic supply chain team. In this role, you will be responsible for expediting the processing of purchase orders and confirmations, managing vendor communication, and ensuring data accuracy within our ERP system. Your efforts will directly contribute to reducing backlogs, improving visibility, and minimizing expedite costs and production risks. Responsibilities + Process and confirm purchase orders promptly. + Reduce past due and unconfirmed order lines. + Communicate effectively with vendors and respond to suppliers. + Ensure data accuracy and provide real-time visibility in the IFS ERP system. + Support immediate needs on past due orders, supplier follow-ups, and purchase order execution. + Improve visibility and reduce backlog to lower expedite costs and production risks. Essential Skills + Minimum of 3 years experience in purchasing in a mid-level buyer capacity. + Hands-on experience with placing, releasing, and maintaining purchase orders in an ERP system. + Experience managing past due and unconfirmed PO lines and driving resolution. + Proven ability to expedite orders and coordinate supplier delivery commitments. + Experience supporting supplier onboarding, setup, and compliance documentation. + Comfortable working in a high-volume, fast-paced procurement environment with competing priorities. + Strong communication skills for coordinating across suppliers and internal cross-functional teams. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience in life sciences, medical devices, or medical instruments preferred, but open to other industries such as defense/DOD and electronics. + Experience with ERP systems is a must; experience with IFS is preferred but not required. + Experience working toward KPI recovery or supply chain performance improvement initiatives is a plus. + Ability to multitask and adapt quickly in a reactive supply chain environment. Work Environment Join our mid-sized supply chain team consisting of 4 buyers, 3 senior buyers, and additional planners cross-trained into buying roles. Our team is currently stretched thin and requires someone flexible, able to multitask, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment where priorities may shift. The position is onsite, Monday to Friday, from 8 am to 5 pm. This is a six-month contract role with the potential for a permanent position for the right candidate. You will be working in a collaborative team at our location in the 4S Ranch/Rancho Bernardo area, contributing to meaningful work that directly impacts production and customer delivery. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
