Job Description

This role oversees end-to-end material availability and procurement to support manufacturing production schedules in a medical device environment. The specialist manages global vendor relationships and contracts, drives strategic cost reduction initiatives, and ensures strict adherence to quality, regulatory, and financial controls. The position requires strong SAP materials management experience, deep knowledge of manufacturing purchasing, and the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams on new product launches and document change requests.

Responsibilities

Execute daily Material Requirements Planning (MRP) to ensure timely material availability that aligns with production schedules and customer demand.Develop and maintain customer forecasts to support accurate planning, purchasing, and inventory management.Generate, sustain, and manage all sustaining and non-sustaining Purchase Orders (POs), ensuring on-time placement, accuracy, and compliance with internal controls.Manage and monitor vendor performance, including delivery, quality, and responsiveness, and authorize vendor invoices in line with established financial controls.Oversee the end-to-end sterilization process for materials and products, ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality requirements.Implement and maintain tracking systems for obsolete materials to minimize write-offs and optimize inventory levels.Provide full procurement support for new manufacturing project launches and closures, including material sourcing, supplier coordination, and timeline alignment.Maintain the accuracy and integrity of critical SAP master data, including purchasing info records (PIR), lead times, and minimum order quantities (MOQs).Process, coordinate, and approve Document Change Requests (DCRs), ensuring timely implementation of changes across materials, suppliers, and processes.Prepare and deliver executive-level operational and performance reports, including Monthly Operations Reviews (MOR), Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR), and Global Business Reviews (GBR).Lead strategic customer calls, providing updates on supply, inventory status, and performance metrics while addressing risks and mitigation plans.Generate weekly performance reports that highlight key supply chain, procurement, and inventory indicators for internal and external stakeholders.Manage Finished Goods (FG) certification processes, ensuring all quality, regulatory, and documentation requirements are met before release.Execute intercompany component transfers to optimize inventory positioning and support global manufacturing needs.Lead and participate in strategic cost reduction initiatives, including supplier negotiations, alternative sourcing, and process improvements.Coordinate and manage the implementation of all Raw Material (RM) changes from suppliers, ensuring smooth transitions with minimal impact on production.Ensure rigorous adherence to data integrity standards, process optimization practices, and established financial and quality controls across the entire material lifecycle.

Essential Skills

Strong experience with SAP materials management, including master data, purchasing info records, lead times, and minimum order quantities.\\4 years of manufacturing purchasing experience. Experience in medical devices or regulated industriesProficiency in executing Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and managing inventory levels to support production and customer demand.Demonstrated ability to manage purchasing activities, including generating and sustaining Purchase Orders and authorizing vendor invoices.Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects across the full material lifecycle, from sourcing to finished goods certification.

Work Environment

The role operates within a manufacturing environment, with close collaboration across production, quality, regulatory, and supply chain teams. Work involves extensive use of SAP for materials and purchasing management and Microsoft Excel for analysis and reporting. The position requires regular interaction with global vendors, internal stakeholders, and executive leadership through meetings, calls, and formal reviews. The environment emphasizes strict adherence to quality, regulatory, and financial controls, with a strong focus on process discipline, data accuracy, and continuous improvement.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jeffersonville, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $41.00/hr.
