Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Buyer to oversee the upstream supply chain, ensuring exceptional customer service and operational excellence. You will be responsible for managing the flow of materials and information from our suppliers to the point of use, with a focus on achieving timely supplier delivery, maximizing process efficiencies, and minimizing inventory levels.
Responsibilities
Oversee raw material and purchase part SKU parameterization, aligning strategies with business requirements.Manage supplier master data within the ERP system and escalate communication regarding changes to agreements.Utilize inventory tools and techniques to ensure optimal inventory availability and right-sizing on raw materials and purchased goods in transit.Measure and report supplier performance on on-time delivery, lead time, and order quantity.Build collaborative relationships with suppliers to meet supply chain requirements.Address shortages and expedite resolution by working on upstream supply chain performance improvement projects.Manage product portfolio, lifecycle, and NPI process with suppliers to minimize supply disruptions and obsolete inventory.Develop supply base using lean methodology to ensure process and system compatibility with operational excellence standards.Support center-led sourcing team with supplier development activities.Essential Skills
Experience in purchasing, inventory, and supplier management.Proficiency in ERP systems and process improvement.Knowledge of lean methodology and new product introductions (NPI).Excellent negotiation and communication skills.1+ year experience in supply chain or procurement.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in manufacturing supply chains is preferred.Ability to manage 20-50 purchase orders per week.Some type of ERP experience is required.Work Environment
The position is based onsite at our Rochester plant and offers a hybrid work schedule with 3 days in-office and 2 days remote. Flexible start times between 6 AM and 8:30 AM are available, although flexibility is required for interactions with international suppliers, which comprise 75% of communications. The role involves specialization by commodity/SKUs, managing specific suppliers and components across three product lines.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $36.50/hr.
