Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Buyer to manage the purchasing operations within a dynamic and innovative environment. This role involves overseeing the entire purchase order lifecycle, ensuring timely procurement, and maintaining excellent relationships with suppliers to support our cutting-edge manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

Oversee all phases of the purchase order lifecycle, including creation, order tracking, and invoice management.Establish and maintain the purchasing parameters necessary for procurement.Ensure timely receipt of orders and payment to suppliers.Maintain MRP planning data and safety stock strategy.Implement effective supplier relationship management and ensure clear communication with vendors.Assist site stakeholders in sourcing and acquiring materials.Interface with ERP system validation and integration, acting as Purchasing SME for Procurement and MRP modules.Ensure raw materials and consumables purchasing is executed to support an uninterrupted supply of materials to manufacturing in accordance with the production plan.Identify and escalate risks associated with fluctuations in production plans, supplier reliability, warehouse space constraints, and cost.Stewardship of raw material and consumable purchasing data in ERP for accurate forecasting, execution, and analytics.Perform forecasting, material assessments, and historical trend analyses.Execute all inventory activities and analyses, including inventory control, management, assessments of warehouse storage capacity, and availability of finished goods.Maintain performance metrics for raw materials and final products, pinpointing opportunities for cost savings.Support Regulatory, Compliance, Quality, and SOX audit requests.Participate in supplier business reviews.Comply with EHS&S safety standards.Identify material escalations proactively, address raw material shortage/stock outs swiftly, and recommend alternative strategies to mitigate risks.Ensure the efficiency of materials, processing requirements, equipment function, and personnel performance for daily operations.Provide support to the Procurement Manager with ad-hoc tasks as required.

Essential Skills

Minimum of 3 years of experience in the biotech/pharma industry with experience in supply chain, warehouse operations, and/or manufacturing operations.In-depth understanding of key concepts in materials requirements, planning, and procurement, including inventory management, cycle counts, expediting, and order placement.Strong analytical abilities and proficiency in inventory management software and ERP systems (SAP experience is preferred).Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and partner with other functional groups to achieve business objectives.Advanced knowledge of cGMP/GDP/Pharmaceutical regulations.Advanced knowledge of Quality and Compliance systems.Must be able to manage shifting priorities to meet critical deadlines in a fast-paced and dynamic, growing environment.Exceptional organizational and time management skills.Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, coupled with a strong focus on detail.Self-awareness, integrity, authenticity, and a growth mindset.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Cell/Gene Therapy experience preferred.Experience in Pharma/Biotech industry with GMP manufacturing is highly transferable.Capable of thriving in a team setting with a positive attitude and a willingness to support other areas of the organization.

Work Environment

This position is based in an office setting with standard working hours from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bridgewater, NJ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
