Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Buyer to join our team. This role is responsible for sourcing and procuring raw materials, subcontracted services, semi-finished goods, and indirect items using MRP logic and/or forecasts. The Buyer will manage inventory levels, oversee purchase orders, and build strong supplier relationships to ensure a resilient and efficient supply chain.

Key ResponsibilitiesExecute procurement activities for raw materials, subcontracted services, semi-finished goods, and indirect items using MRP logic and/or forecasts.Monitor and manage inventory to optimize turnover while preventing stock-outs.Oversee the full lifecycle of purchase orders, including issuance, tracking, resolving blocked invoices, and expediting shipments when necessary.Provide accurate and timely forecasts to suppliers on a regular basis.Assist in supplier selection and qualification based on commercial and technical capabilities.Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to mitigate supply chain risks.Collaborate with Commodity/Purchasing Managers to enhance supply chain maturity and support onboarding of new suppliers.Participate in supplier audits and performance evaluations, including scorecard completion.Ensure compliance with organizational Supplier Expectations and standards.Qualifications & Skills

Essential:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Procurement, or Supply Chain Management (preferred).Minimum 3 years of purchasing experience or equivalent internship with direct buying responsibilities.Strong computer proficiency and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.

Preferred:

Experience in manufacturing procurement.Knowledge of MRP systems; SAP experience is a plus.APICS certification is advantageous.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbus, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $40.86/hr.
