Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Buyer with a strong background in engineered-to-order (ETO) manufacturing environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience interpreting technical blueprints, managing procurement activities through ERP systems, and collaborating cross-functionally to ensure timely and cost-effective sourcing of custom components and materials.

ResponsibilitiesSource and purchase materials, components, and services required for custom-engineered products.Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure quality, cost, and delivery targets are met.Negotiate pricing, lead times, and terms with vendors.Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints to understand material and component specifications.Work closely with engineering, production, and planning teams to align procurement with project requirements.Utilize ERP systems to manage purchase orders, inventory levels, supplier data, and procurement workflows.Monitor and maintain accurate records of purchasing activities and supplier performance.Support project timelines by ensuring materials are available when needed.Identify and mitigate risks related to supply chain disruptions or delays.Participate in cost reduction initiatives and supplier evaluations.Recommend process improvements to enhance procurement efficiency and accuracy.Essential SkillsProven experience in a Buyer or Procurement role within an engineered-to-order or custom manufacturing environment.Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Infor, or similar).Excellent negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field preferred.Additional Skills & QualificationsFamiliarity with manufacturing processes and materials.Experience with supplier audits and quality assurance.Knowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies.Work Environment

This position is fully onsite in Menomonee Falls. The work environment involves working closely with cross-functional teams and utilizing advanced ERP systems to manage procurement activities. The position requires the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

This is a Contract position based out of Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $37.00/hr.
