Job Title: BuyerJob Description We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Buyer to join our team, specializing in purchasing Underbody/Chassis Components within the automotive sector. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator, comfortable with conflict resolution, and possess excellent business acumen. Responsibilities + Purchase goods, materials, components, or services in line with specified cost, quality, and delivery targets. + Support the purchasing function and other relevant departments, communicating any supply problems that may impact business operations. + Act as an interface between suppliers and other relevant departments on purchasing processes and new projects. + Monitor and advise on any issues presenting risk or opportunity to the organization. + Monitor market trends, competitor strategies, and market suppliers. + Provide analysis on costs, both new and existing, and review cost reduction activities. + Work closely with others in procurement to review opportunities for continuous improvement. + Negotiate contracts, improve prices, and terms of business with suppliers. + Build, maintain, and manage supplier relationships with effective communication. + Conduct research for new components and suppliers. + Compile data relating to supplier performance for evaluation purposes. + Contact suppliers to resolve price, quality, delivery, or invoice issues. + Resolve supplier shortages and past-due situations. + Update and maintain commodity strategies. + Work with cost estimating to develop cost estimates for savings negotiations. + Produce weekly reports, charts, and status updates on open assignments and projects. + Perform market tests, analyze responses, and award sourcing of parts. + Review open vehicles off-road (VOR) and backorders weekly to expedite parts delivery. Essential Skills + 3-6 years of purchasing/buyer experience. + Automotive purchasing experience. + Strong communication and negotiation skills. + Intermediate proficiency in Excel (testing required). + Motivated, self-starter, solution-oriented. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience with SAP. + Takes initiative, quick learner. Work Environment This is a hybrid role, currently requiring 3 days on-site typically Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with flexibility for all-team meetings or supplier visits. The work environment is in a recently renovated building with an open concept and no set desk assignments, featuring a large cafeteria. The dress code is business casual, with khakis or dress pants and a button-down shirt or blouse acceptable. Work hours are Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, totaling 40 hours per week. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $39.00 - $43.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
