Job Title: BuyerJob Description

The Buyer is responsible for placing and expediting purchase orders, interacting with vendors and departments concerning purchasing issues, and supporting the standardization and consolidation of goods and services throughout the organization. This role ensures contract compliance concerning pricing and service levels, maintains the purchasing system database, and performs computer system interfaces.

ResponsibilitiesInteract with vendors and departments regarding purchase orders to communicate product delivery and pricing information. Coordinate changes in purchase orders with vendors.Maintain the purchasing system database and perform interfaces with other computer systems and accounts payable. Meet with vendors and department representatives to resolve conflicts or concerns.Proactively expedite purchase orders for timely delivery.Monitor and ensure compliance with product standardization and vendor performance, and report findings.Compose and place purchase orders using the automated purchasing system, ensuring accuracy of information and selecting appropriate methods.Process electronic and department-specific purchase requisitions, verifying signature authority and requirements as needed.Seek direction when necessary, escalating vendor and contract concerns to Senior Buyers, Purchasing Supervisor, or Purchasing Manager.Support the Purchasing Department goals of product standardization and consolidation.Track and evaluate credit and accounts payable problems, working with vendors and accounts payable to resolve any credit holds.Resolve billing and accounts payable issues.
Essential SkillsBachelor's degree in a related discipline from an accredited college or university.Experience with purchase order processing, procurement, and purchasing.Experience with ERP systems, including Workday or similar large ERP systems.Strong work ethic and ability to provide excellent customer service.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.Experience in vendor management and data entry.
Additional Skills & Qualifications2-5 years of experience in supply chain, ERP, buying, or purchasing.Open to new processes and able to work with urgency.Knowledge of Workday, GHX, and ERP systems.
Work Environment

The work schedule is Tuesday and Wednesday from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, and Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. No weekend work is required. The role operates in a professional setting with no specific dress code mentioned.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Stanford, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $43.00 - $55.00/hr.
