Job Title: Production Site Manager
Job Description

The Production Site Manager is responsible for developing the supply chain, negotiating and managing contracts, and overseeing subcontracting activities for mechanical, electrical, and commodity systems. This position serves as a key liaison between internal departments and external suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement.

ResponsibilitiesIdentify suppliers and issue requests for quotes (RFQs) for subcontracted manufacturing services such as welding, machining, and painting.Maintain consistent follow-up on active RFQs and purchase orders in coordination with project managers.Prepare and issue purchase orders and revisions as needed.Negotiate pricing, payment terms, discounts, and delivery schedules with suppliers.Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers; conduct site visits as necessary.Source new suppliers based on evolving business requirements.Ensure contracts incorporate all purchasing requirements and specifications.Manage supplier communications and contract deliverables; resolve issues as they arise.Maintain accurate records and tracking systems for all purchasing activities.Ensure ERP system data is current and accurate.Act as the liaison between internal departments and suppliers; coordinate efforts to meet deadlines, budgets, and project goals.Ensure supplier compliance with contractual obligations.Participate in supplier evaluations and performance reviews.Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities.Proactively manage risks related to critical suppliers.Resolve disputes and handle supplier complaints.Collaborate closely with Engineering, Project Management, Quality, Accounting, and Production teams.Perform other duties as assigned.Essential SkillsPurchasingProcurementSupply chain managementNegotiationMicrosoft Excel proficiencyBuying experienceManufacturing industry experienceProduction schedulingAdditional Skills & QualificationsA bachelor’s degree in business administration, Industrial Management, or a related field is preferred.Experience, minimum 5-10 years, in a manufacturing or production environment, with proven supervisory experience.Experience in a manufacturing environment and in continuous improvement is an asset.Experience in project management is an asset.Good working knowledge of manufacturing requirements planning and production scheduling best practices.Proven negotiation skills and ability to build relationships with internal teams and external partners.Knowledge of steels, electromechanical parts, and equipment.Strong computer skills (ERP management software).Ability to read plans is an asset.Good communication skills, both oral and written, and master interpersonal communication skills.Flexibility and ability to handle frequent interruptions and changing priorities.Ability to work independently and manage time and priorities.Very good sense of organization.Must be able to communicate (read, write, and speak) the English language clearly.Work Environment

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $41.00/hr.
