As a Buyer, you will play a proactive role in managing supply chain risks and identifying areas for improvement. The buyer maintains regular communication with suppliers to ensure adequate procurement of goods and materials, while actively identifying and managing potential risks and bottlenecks in the supply chain. The Buyer works with Supply Planners, Production Schedulers, Sourcing Customer Service, Incoming Inspection, and Accounts Payable teams.
What you will do:
Own strategic and tactical purchasing responsibilities for your assigned portfolio to ensure high levels of service and material availability.
Build collaborative relationships with suppliers to understand their planning systems and how they impact Stryker’s material and capacity needs.
Monitor and communicate key supply chain metrics, including receipts, inventory levels, and KPIs to relevant stakeholders.
Place and manage Purchase Orders with accuracy, ensuring system dates reflect real-time supply chain status.
Proactively address any inventory receipt issues, working cross-functionally to resolve challenges and maintain flow.
Identify opportunities to improve supply chain processes and lead initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive alignment and support key business initiatives.
Maintain system data integrity by updating item master details such as lead times, order quantities, safety stock, and delivery dates to ensure accurate planning and execution.
What you need:
Required:
Degree level in Business/Engineering/Supply Chain management Proficient in written and spoken EnglishMinimum of 2 years' experience in Purchasing, Procurement, or Manufacturing.Preferred:
Experience with ERP systems ie SAP, Oracle, JDE Excellent knowledge of MS Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint & Word. Previous experience in supplier relationship management Travel Percentage: 10%
