Summary: 

A Buyer at Pacific Seafood is a key role on our SPECS team supporting efforts to maintain and optimize inventory and coordinate logistics. This position involves maintaining inventory levels, coordinating freight,  assisting inventory and buying teams, and is ideal for someone who has analytical skills, organizational skills, and is detail orientated.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Inventory Control Management:Manage stock items and communicate updates, including new, discontinued, and changes in packaging and other consumablesMaintain cost fields for stock items in AS400Develop weekly forecasts and purchase products accordingly to meet inventory requirements2. Logistics Coordination:Ensure adherence to delivery schedules Prepare purchase orders for daily receiving and provide transportation instructionsTrack freight and confirm purchase orders for inbound shipmentsUtilize supplier lead times to maximize company advantages3. Administrative Support and Customer Service:Crosstrain with Category Managers for coverageRespond to sales requests for research and sourcing new productsUpdate order guide and par levels as neededDistribute stock items lists to operations and production teamsAnswer telephones and assist with inquiriesAdditional responsibilities may be assigned as deemed necessary to support the overall goals and objectives of the position.
 

What You Bring to Pacific Seafood:

Required:

Minimum two years’ experience in purchasing or operations

Preferred:

Bachelor’s degree in business or another related fieldStrong computer skills with the Microsoft Office Suite, primarily Word and ExcelWork experience in the food industry5+ years’ experience as a buyer
