How will you make an impact?
As a Buyer, you will manage the Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) process to ensure material supply aligns with production demand. You’ll develop sourcing strategies, negotiate pricing and terms, and collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to optimize cost, quality, and delivery performance across the supply chain.
What will you do?Manage MRP to ensure material supply meets production demand while optimizing cost.Develop supply base and strategic sourcing plans tailored to customer or business unit needs.Collaborate with Purchasing Managers and Supply Chain Management (SCM) to align customer needs with Jabil’s supply chain strategies.Communicate expectations to suppliers and conduct audits, certifications, and performance reviews.Support and contribute to Jabil’s SCM initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.Quote new and existing materials; negotiate pricing and terms to reduce costs.Make sourcing decisions based on total cost and benefit, including price, freight, quality, and service.Negotiate terms that protect Jabil’s interests, including liability and stocking arrangements.Ensure execution of global purchasing agreements and negotiated terms.Work with internal teams and customers to expand strategic suppliers on Approved Manufacturer’s Lists (AML).Analyze and project component pricing for accurate inventory valuation in standard costing.Provide input for competitive customer quotes while maximizing Materials Price Variance (MPV).Optimize MPV by reducing material costs and managing price variances.Collaborate with Materials Planners to monitor supplier performance and ensure alignment with business needs.Adhere to safety, health, and security policies.Perform other duties as assigned.How will you get here?Education:Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field preferred.Experience:2–3 years of experience in materials planning, procurement, or supply chain operations.Or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and/or training.Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:Strong analytical and mathematical skills, including ability to calculate percentages, ratios, and interpret graphs.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Windows-based systems.Advanced PC skills and familiarity with Jabil’s software packages.Ability to define problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions.Effective communication and presentation skills.Strong organizational and decision-making abilities.Ability to work independently and manage standardized processes with minimal variation.Preferred Qualifications:Experience in supplier negotiations and strategic sourcing.Familiarity with standard costing and MPV/PPV management.Background in electronics or manufacturing supply chain environments.Benefits
