Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Buyer to manage the procurement of materials and supplies for our fencing operations. This role is responsible for sourcing and purchasing fencing materials such as wood, vinyl, metal, hardware, and tools to support both manufacturing and installation teams. The ideal candidate will have strong negotiation skills, a solid understanding of construction materials, and the ability to maintain cost-effective inventory levels.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Source and purchase fencing materials, tools, and supplies from approved vendors.
+ Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, pricing, delivery, and service.
+ Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with warehouse and field teams to ensure timely replenishment.
+ Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules to optimize cost and efficiency.
+ Maintain accurate purchase records, vendor files, and material specifications.
+ Collaborate with project managers and estimators to forecast material needs for upcoming jobs.
+ Resolve issues related to order discrepancies, damaged goods, or late deliveries.
+ Stay informed on market trends, material availability, and pricing fluctuations.
Qualifications:
+ High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred).
+ 2+ years of purchasing experience, preferably in construction, fencing, or building materials.
+ Strong negotiation and communication skills.
+ Familiarity with fencing materials such as wood, chain-link, vinyl, and ornamental metals.
+ Proficiency in inventory management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.91 - $28.91/hr.
