An experienced and hands-on Butler is sought to oversee and maintain outstanding service standards in a private household. The role requires someone with a background in luxury service, such as yachting or UHNW households, who brings a calm authority, attention to detail, and the ability to anticipate needs. While this is not a housekeeping position, you will work closely with housekeepers and be expected to take a leadership role in managing household presentation and wardrobe organisation. A confident, proactive, and polished professional will thrive in this position.

Job Specification:

Lead all household service operations as Butler, ensuring exceptional standards are upheld across the residence Supervise and support the housekeeping team, overseeing smooth day-to-day household functioning Manage wardrobe organisation and care for ladies and children, attention to fabric care, styling, and coordination is key Deliver high-standard butler service including: Formal and informal table setting and service Valet duties – packing, unpacking, wardrobe upkeep Hosting guests and overseeing event preparation or private gatherings Running errands, managing logistics, and overseeing daily operations Liaising with other household staff, contractors, and external service providers Discreetly handle ad hoc duties and respond intuitively to the family’s needs Maintain absolute discretion and professionalism in all situations Adapt quickly to the family’s preferences and household rhythms Foster a positive, respectful team culture and lead by example

Candidate Requirements:

Prior experience as a Chief Steward(ess), or similar leadership role in luxury private households or yachts Excellent English required; Spanish highly desirable Holds a valid driver’s license Strong leadership ability with a calm, confident presence—uniform not required Highly organised, resilient, and adaptable under pressure Impeccable presentation and communication skills Detail-oriented with an intuitive, service-first mindset Must be eligible to work in the UK
