Job Description
The Business Unit Manager attains Brand leadership in a changing market environment where multiple stakeholders are important. He/she realizes the Brand strategy and coordination of Brand team activities across different members/functions. The Business Unit Manager has the overall accountability for the financial performance of the Brand, with the national sales manager and the marketing team as direct reports.
Key responsibilities:
Accountability and responsibility for allocated Brand P&L (profit & loss) and financial planning within his Therapeutic AreaMaximize Brand sales and margin revenue, through the effective management and execution of Brand activities as per Brand plan and through effective contribution and participation in Brand team activitiesEnsure implementation of the Commercial Brand strategy and tactical Brand activitiesLooking for co-creation opportunities to further improve patient careHold line management responsibilities for Sales & MarketingLead the Brand team around a Brand vision and objectives that are shared by all membersBrand team members contribute to the development of the Brand strategy through the Brand plan process in line with strategy defined by International Marketing, and ensure adequate involvement of multiple functions as relevant for the BrandContinuously encourage Brand team members collaboration and foster team spiritAccountability and responsibility for Brand team activities and processesCoordinate financial process connected to the BrandProactively encourage Brand team members to ensure timely and high quality execution of the complete Brand planning processSet future direction for existing and new products and business opportunitiesNegotiate with Affiliate Management team for resources and budget for Brand teamCoaches, develops and assesses his/her team according to company guidelines and valuesFrequently liaises with the Area Commercial TeamQualifications
Qualifications and experience:
University degree (Master’s degree preferred), marketing/economics major preferred10+ years’ experience in Marketing, Sales and people leadership roles within the Pharmaceutical industryExperienced in the Brand/Healthcare/Pharmaceutical environmentFamiliar with the external stakeholder environment, Market Access issues and financial processes, P&LStrong business acumen and knowledge of Sales and Marketing aspectsStrong knowledge how to manage Brands in a Commercial capacityProject Management, cross-divisional & leadership experienceExcellent track record with tangible results in business and peoplePeople leadership at varying levels of seniorityBusiness fluent German, English
