Job Overview
As part of the Oncology Leadership Team, placing the patient at the center of any efforts, the mission of the Business Unit Manager is to create, build and deliver the resourcing and launch plans for the brand and indications, supporting the delivery of the Oncology Business Unit Commercial and Financial Goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Together with other affiliate’s functions involved (Regulatory Affairs, Medical, Market Access, Patient Engagement, Commercial), define local brand strategy, strategic priorities and action plans to establish the brand as the backbone therapy in relevant indicationsBe the contact person with main Global and Area teams working on the pipeline assets, notably IMCO, Pipeline Commercialization & Strategy and Europe and provide UK insights to shape the strategic framework for future UK launchesPartner effectively with medical lead to gain deep knowledge and understanding of all data and product profiles in within the pipeline therapy areasCreate relationships with key external stakeholders in the pipeline therapy areas to deepen understanding of the environment and help building successful launch strategies and tacticsLead the Brand team, to maximise the positioning of the brand and any future launches and identify all significant gaps in the affiliate’s Launch Readiness Framework:Ensure identified gaps are discussed in a timely manner and understood by BUD so as to support resourcing and prioritisationEffectively manage and execute all marketing and sales related brand activities as per Brand Plan, such as development and implementation of commercial Brand strategy and tactical Brand activities execution and deliver sales performance to maximize or exceed brand sales and margin within expense budgetsOptimize resource utilization by leading, developing, and building the Sales Team including setting sales targets and incentive schemes, managing Sales Force Management Systems and Key Performance Indicators to continuously improve sales performance. Ensure regular updates on Sales Team skills in terms of medical, technical, and special in-field knowledge areasHold accountability for allocated Brand P&L in terms of brand sales and financial planning (Financial Plan, Focus/Update, Long Range Plan)Professionally manage and build cross functional cooperation between key stakeholders. Ensure timely and qualitative market intelligence information flow to Brand TeamsRole model AbbVie Ways We Work behaviors and enable the Brand Team matrix to work in order to achieve high quality strategy and execution capability.Develop and coach talent and build succession plans in order to ensure continuous high performance and engaged talent pipeline in Sales and MarketingOperate within AbbVie Code of Business Conduct, policies and all applicable laws and regulationsQualifications
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experienceSignificant relevant experience with proven track record of success in a marketing, KAM and/or sales leadership position within biotech/pharmaceutical industryStrong experience in managing commercial, KAM or medical teamCompetencies
